Faverolles are classified as a heavy breed and have a beard, muffs and feathered feet along with five toes per foot, rather than the usual four. The most common color is Salmon. The plumage of salmon females is mainly brown and creamy white. The males are darker, with black, brown, and straw-colored feathers. Other varieties, including white, black, ermine, cuckoo, splash and blue also exist. Because of the dependable color difference between the sexes, these can be sexed at a fairly young age.
Hens are good winter layers of medium-sized, light brown to pinkish eggs. Roosters will weigh around 9 lbs with the hens going a solid 7 or 8.
Salmon Faverolles chicks are 14.00 for pullet chicks and 12.00 for cockerel chicks. Eggs are 50.00 per dozen.
Chicks are local pickup/delivery only, eggs can be shipped.
